Misconduct Reporting Policy

To ensure the safety and well-being of our employers, employees, and contractors, Hunter Professional treats workplace misconduct with the utmost seriousness. We expect all Hunter Professional employees and contractors to consistently conduct themselves responsibly in the workplace, adhering to our core business values. This means acting ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Hunter Professional fosters a culture of openness and accountability and encourages all stakeholders to speak up on any (suspected) ethical concerns, dilemmas, or other incidents where conduct falls short of our core.


Avoid and Report Job Scams

Hunter Professional does not charge candidates any fees.

Hunter Professional does not solicit payments in exchange for interviews or job offers related to our company or its clients.

However, individuals and/or organisations may attempt to unlawfully represent or employ our company's registered trademark in fraudulent job advertisements and communications with the intention to deceive and exploit individuals. We strongly recommend exercising vigilance when responding to job-related correspondence that claims an affiliation with Hunter Professional.

Be careful

Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.

Protect yourself online

Opportunities that seem too good to be true usually are. Be wary of advertisers or employers requesting the following:

  • An upfront fee (e.g. for things such as ‘processing’ your application). A genuine advertiser or employer will not ask you for money or your bank or credit card details.
  • The job offer was sent from a personal email, a “no-reply” email, and not from Hunter Professional email domain.
  • Communication channels are limited to social media and messaging platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and other platforms.
  • Acceptance of a money transfer where you can retain a portion as ‘payment’.
  • Personally identifying information as part of the application process. For example, your driver’s licence, passport information, tax file number or non-work related information such as your appearance or marital status.

Always check the legitimacy of any job ad, email or employer that seems suspicious before you respond. If you have any concerns, call the company directly to verify.

How to report a scam

To report a scammer online in Australia, you can report to Scamwatch. You can also report cybercrimes to the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC). If you've lost money, contact your bank or financial institution immediately.


Privacy Policy & Procedure

Purpose

This policy outlines how Hunter Professional Pty Limited (Hunter) collects personal information and how we maintain, use, store and disclose the personal information we hold and reflects our commitment to ensure your privacy is maintained.

Hunter is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) in Australia.

This policy will be reviewed and updated from time to time to consider new laws and technology, changes to our operations and practices and to make sure it remains appropriate to the changing environment.   • Any information about a workplace accident in which you are involved.

The categories of personal information collected by Hunter depend on the recruitment services you request or use, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Such information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Contact information that allows us to communicate with you.
  • Proof of identification.
  • Professional history, qualifications & references.
  • Financial information.
  • Other individuals’ details, e.g. previous employer & references.
  • Immigration evidence and history.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information constitutes a distinct category of personal data under the Privacy Act. This includes, but is not limited to, details regarding professional or trade association membership, trade union membership, criminal records, health data, racial or ethnic background, political views, affiliation with political organisations, religious or philosophical beliefs, and sexual orientation or practices. In accordance with the Privacy Act, sensitive information generally may only be disclosed with the individual's explicit consent.

Purpose for Collecting Personal Information

Hunter collects personal information for several reasons, including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting you to find employment or retain existing employment.
  • Supporting your career development and management.
  • Analysing trends in human resources and labour markets.
  • Sending marketing communications and service-related updates that may interest you.
  • Creating and administering tests and assessments to match you with suitable employment opportunities.
  • Processing payments if you are hired as an employee or contractor.
  • Assisting with work rehabilitation processes.
  • Managing and resolving any complaints, inquiries, or investigations involving you.
  • Fulfilling insurance requirements that involve sharing your personal or sensitive information.
  • Conducting criminal background checks, credit checks, and right-to-work verifications.
  • Facilitating research, development, and business system testing to improve our services.
  • Direct marketing of recruitment services (with an option to opt out of emails).
  • Providing our services to you.

Disclosure of Your Personal Information

If Hunter discloses personal information to any third party, Hunter will generally require these parties to protect such personal information in the same way that Hunter does.

If you reside or are looking for work in Australia, Hunter is required by law to advise the following:

  • Hunter shall not charge a fee for the purpose of finding employment.
  • Hunter shall not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct (such as advertising a position as being available when no such position exists, or knowingly giving misleading information to you about the nature of a position).
  • If you believe that Hunter has acted inappropriately, you may contact the Office of Fair Trading for information on possible action that may be taken.

Data Security and Storage

Safeguarding the privacy of your information is important, whether you interact with us personally, by phone, mail, over the internet or other electronic medium. We hold personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and other records, and take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We may need to maintain records for a significant period of time. However, when we consider information is no longer needed, we will remove any details that will identify you or we will securely destroy the records.

Managing Your Personal Information

Hunter staff are trained to respect the confidentiality of our employers, employees, and contractors’ information and the privacy of individuals. Hunter regards breaches of your privacy very seriously and any breach will result in disciplinary action being taken, dependent upon severity. The director of Hunter will hold the role of Privacy Officer to ensure that our management of personal information is in accordance with this policy and the Privacy Act. Every individual registering on Hunter’s website or applying for Hunter jobs will have the right to access, update and correct their personal information. Contact Hunter to update your personal information via telephone or email.

General Information Collected from Visitors to Our Website

We collect aggregate data regarding user activity on our website, including frequently visited areas and the most accessed services. This information is used solely in an anonymous and collective manner. Complaints

The following sets out the process, timeline and procedures that will be taken to address potential privacy-related complaints:

2 The Privacy Officer shall acknowledge receipt of complaint within 10 working days. Acknowledgement indicates at a minimum:

  • Approximate timeline to address the matter
3 The Privacy Officer may advise an extension of time, based on the number of working days between the request for, and receipt of, additional information and/or advice.
4 Within 20 working days the Privacy Officer will advise findings. In the event the Privacy Officer determines there has been a breach of this Policy, the Privacy Officer will take appropriate steps to rectify that breach and will advise the nature of the breach and the steps taken to rectify it.
5 If the complainant is not satisfied with Hunter’s response, in Australia, contact the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
6 If the complaint has been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, the Privacy Officer will keep a secure record of all relevant documentation and related information.

Non-Acceptance of the Privacy Policy

If you do not wish to consent to the management of your data in accordance with our Policy, we kindly request that you refrain from submitting any personal information to us.

Work Health & Safety

Hunter Professional Pty Ltd requires its host clients to provide a safe workplace for all workers assigned to external client worksites. Hunter Professional Pty Ltd also requires its workers to work safely and to consider the health and safety of other people who may be affected by their actions.

Hunter Professional Pty Ltd is committed to:

  • Complying with all WHS laws, regulations, and standards for all its workers;
  • Maintaining its own WHS policies, procedures, and resources to ensure best practice in WHS;
  • Requiring host clients to ensure that their worksites are WHS-compliant and that they provide a safe working environment for Hunter Professional Pty Ltd workers;
  • Ensuring all Hunter Professional Pty Ltd workers complete online WHS training modules that include information about WHS risks and safe work practices;

Hunter Professional Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the health and safety of all its workers, whether they are employees/contractors working internally for Hunter Professional Pty Ltd or employees/contractors/consultants working externally, providing services to Hunter Professional Pty Ltd clients. To achieve this, Hunter Professional Pty Ltd has developed a WHS management system (including policies and procedures) that is integrated with its organisational activities. Hunter Professional Pty Ltd will take all reasonable and practical steps to improve work safety conditions and promote WHS best practice.

  • Ensuring all workers complete a site-specific safety induction explaining how to perform their specific duties safely, avoid site-specific risks/hazards, and utilise any relevant safety measures/equipment;
  • Ensuring all workers are aware of their responsibilities for their own health and safety and for others around them, including requiring workers to conduct an ergonomic assessment of their workstation;
  • Ensuring all Hunter Professional Pty Ltd Consultants are aware of the company’s WHS obligations regarding their external workers/contractors and provide assistance and support to workers/contractors in relation to WHS-related matters;
  • Actively responding to and investigating all incidents, effectively managing workers’ compensation claims, and ensuring injured workers are returned to suitable work at the earliest opportunity;
  • Monitoring and reviewing safety performance and management of safety issues at regular Safety Group meetings;
  • Maintaining organisational structures to support and communicate effective WHS practices throughout the business (including regular reporting to managers regarding WHS matters); and
  • Planning to improve WHS performance, including encouraging consultation with workers and clients to develop and promote WHS best practices.

If you receive recruitment/consulting services from Hunter Professional Pty Ltd (including receiving a candidate’s details, profile, or CV), our Terms & Conditions for Introduction of a Candidate apply unless and until alternative terms are agreed in writing between the parties' authorised representatives.
